This is the new open source linux console called the Caanoo and it is more than twice as fast  as the PSP and is roughly the same size (screen is a bit smaller).  Gamepark Holdings designed this for hackers and the open source community You can do anything with it OMG DREWL.  Being nearly 3 times faster than the PSP some one could surely emulate PSP games on it. [Update 1] I found a picture to compare the GP2X Caanoo to Gameparks Holdings previous console the GP2X WIZ and as you can see the Caanoo is so much better. A big improvement in screen size and quality and also notice the analog joystick.

Gamepark Holdings has being buying the rights to some old classic arcade games so far they have bought the following

Batsgun ,Demons World, Fire Shark, Grind Stormer, Hell Fire, Out Zone, Pipi & Bibi’s, Snow Bros 1, Snow Bros 2, Tiger Heli, Truxton 1, Truxton 2, Twin Cobra and more

Gamepark Holdings is changing the way that a lot of these games are played for example imagine playing Out Run with Motion Control. The Caanoo is open-source so there will be emulators for all retro consoles.

Many commercial games are coming to the caanoo some of these include

Rythmos (Rhythm Game), Propis (Puzzle Game), Perfect Goal Manager 2010 (football manager Clone), Deicide 3 (action), Redemtion Lair (RPG) and more

The Caanoo will have many more games coming, some of them are online or network games making use of the Wifi Dongle. (Wifi dongle sold separately)

I am hoping some one will port the Mugen engine to it I will need a 4gb SD card to fit all my characters on it I have already already got mine from here,

[UPDATE 2] As part of GP32Spain second coding contest for Gamepark Holdings previous console the Gp2x WIZ some one has almost perfected a existing playstation emulator.

PCSX4ALL v1.0 has not being released to the public yet but a lot of games work almost perfectly through this emulator, this emulator just needs t be ported to the Caanoo when it is released.  Check out the emu here

Gamepark Holdings might be coming to Auckland in New Zealand for the Armageddon Pulp Expo in October, I would love to see a gamepark holding booth there next to all the big company’s booths they will look great gameparks holdings product is something new and exciting and with over 30000 people passing through the doors it would be a great opportunity for a small company with only 70 staff members. Ever had your laptop stolen? Thief’s are always on the look out to snatch a laptop. once me and my friend were at a arcade and luckily we both were using our laptops at the time a passing by thief stole my friends laptop bag probably thinking a laptop was inside.

There is lightweight software for modern laptops to catch these theifs, one of which is called Prey http://preyproject.com/ which works on Mac, windows and Linux and its free and open-source.

A lot of thief’s will try to steal information off your laptop before they reformat and sell it. Prey can use your webcam to take a picture of the criminal and will e-mail a server that you can log into a photo of them to give to the police. It can also use a laptops GPS to find where they are and can send all sorts of other information to the server, like a screenshot and what programs they are running.

This program will give you peace of mind if your laptop gets stolen

I have to give credit to the person who started this scam, has to be one of the best scams of all time but I also want to give them a bullet for making alot of peoples life’s harder with higher taxes.

Every one is going to be affected by this, it will effect trade all over the world, with higher gas and electric bills some company’s might not be able to survive and poor family’s not be able to feed their familys, elderly not able to keep warm.

Yet world leaders blindly sign these bullshit agreements, our planet is dying and our sun is will become a red giant with in the next 100 billion years. We cannot stop the inevitable from happening as the human brain lacks the ability to learn the knowledge of the universe, we cannot even cure most illnesses  with out slicing some one open to do so.

Some assholes are using us all to capitalize on global warming, Emissions Trading Scheme is a SCAM. There is no evidence to suggest that global warming is caused by pollution, heck when we fart we cause  pollution, are they going to tax us for breathing up all the air?

Heavy pollution can make people sick but by no means causes global warming.

The next end to all civilization on this  planet is near, probably not in our lifetime but is closer than most might think it is inevitable.

Remember this planet was a water planet with no land masses once, the tectonic shell some how cracked most likely from pressure from the core reeking havoc and creating volcanoes and earthquakes forcing land up above the water. it is very unlikely that the shell got cracked from an impact as most objects would shatter on the surface of the water making a big splash creating tidal waves.

Regional licensing causes piracy so why does it even exist, 20 years ago it made sense but in today’s modern age it only causes piracy. Often people are willing to pay for their media but when they attempt to buy it legally they are told by the websites that they cannot have it in their country.  Why the hell not? is their money not good enough?

Licensing should not be limited by country or region in todays on-demand society. People are not patient any more and cannot 6 months after another country has being able to buy it the whole time.

Stop regional licensing and reduce piracy by over %30 and also that will mean cheaper prices for all because they will be making more moneys.

Google has admitted to wardriving while doing google street view.

For those of you non-computer literate folks wardriving is when a group hackers travel in a vehicle usually a van searching for wireless networks. They use a GPS device and wireless card and create a map that shows all the networks and their radius, its really cool.

Google are legends, they pretty much wardrived the whole world,  I remember something claiming to be google popping up on my network many years back and now i know what it was.

There is nothing wrong with wardriving so I think  people should settle down, none of your data or personal infomation is taken wardrivers. Wardrivers/hackers/geeks love stats and infomation. All they do is droll  over a road map that has circles on it.

There are always going to be what hackers like to call crackers who will try to steal your information and harm your computer but if the media keeps pissing off the hackers who try to stop it and protect computer users they need to get their facts right.

What the fuck were they thinking, Why did google add that annoying “everthing” bar to the left of google search. It takes up to much space and google was fine just the way it was, we should be able to turn it off in google settings. If i wanted to put up with crap like that I would use Yahoo search.

Stargate Universe, seriously what the fuck were they thinking? Why would they cancel Stargate Atlantis for that peice of crap? They betrayed all stargate fans, its like they took that piece of crap show Greys Anatomy and turned it into sci-fi. Stargate Universe is worse than Battlestar Galatica and Firefly which were also fail sci-fi shows.

All I have to say to the writers and who ever cast those actors is “SHOL’VA, Bon’iqua you betray us?” (in english Traitor, Why you betray us?)

Bit of a rant here, obviously I hate steam. Ever since it HL2 and CS 1.5, it is forced DRM. I was a big HL1 fan and it took lots of effort for me to play HL2 when it was released. Why after all these fucking years does steam still not work properly?

Steam is a awful service, just awful. It has given me problems on many different computers. In fact I had less problems running it through wine on linux.

Why the fuck does steam use more memory than firefox? Why the fuck does it auto fucking update every game even if you tell it not to fucking update? and why the fuck are its NZ and Australian Servers so fucking slow except certain parts of day? Why is steam so buggy? Why does it some times take more than 3 minutes to launch a steam game and 1 second for a non-steam game? Why do some game packages do not clearly tell you its a steam game on the box?

I tend to stay away from steam games, if i see it on a game package it is a instant non-buy. I bought Left for Dead because I thought after all these year they would have fixed steam but no that is not the case.

Why cant they fucking make steam work properly? Because of the way steam works for a lot of games when it does its forced patch that you cannot stop even buy turning auto updates off it will download the whole game again because of the way it patches that certain game, Certainly it would be in steam’s best interest to make sure that patching is fast and low in bandwidth for both the developer and the customer, like WoW for example. WoW only updates changed data and adds in new files needed for the content. If its not changed it does not get downloaded.

Any ways I know a lot of people agree with me and the others just do not know any better or live in magic land where it takes 5 minutes to download 1GB of data.
